Among the park’s most treasured hikes is the Bird Island Trail, which leads to the picturesque China Cove and Gibson Beach. Tips
- The park is highly popular over the weekends and summer months. If the main lot is full, be prepared to park along Highway 1 and take a short walk to the entrance. Consider arriving early in the morning, or later in the afternoon so that you can drive in. The entrance fee is $10 per vehicle.

- Keep an eye out for the sea otters lounging in the kelp forests, sleek harbor seals basking in the sun, and a variety of birds soaring above. Don’t forget to bring binoculars to get a closer look!
