Pacific Grove: A blue-magenta kind of vibe

Pacific Grove—crystal clear water layered in stunning shades, from soft turquoise to deep ocean blue. It is the kind of sight that pulls you in, tempting you to dip your toe in to feel the crisp and refreshing water. On a sunny day, it is no surprise to see locals and visitors out swimming, kayaking, or simply soaking up the coastal serenity.

If you visit between late March and mid-May, you are in for another treat—the magenta ice plants in full bloom, dotting the shoreline with their vibrant color and transforming the landscape into a radiant magic carpet! It is the kind of place that invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and enjoy the rhythm of the coast.

Tips

  • Look out towards the water. You might spot some harbor seals basking in the sun, totally unbothered!
  • Do not feed the cheeky squirrels that eye for your snacks. They might be cute, but feeding them might do more harm than good.
  • There are plenty of parking options around. You can either park near Lover’s Point Park, or along Ocean View Blvd.
