As you reach the top of the staircase landing, turn around. Here, you will see Mount Fuji at eye level, almost as if floating above the village at its foot. With the vermilion Chureito Pagoda in the foreground, this view of Mount Fuji cannot be more iconic. To get to this scenic spot at Arakurayama Sengen Park, however, there is one caveat: you have to climb 398 steps.
They say no sweat, no reward, right?

Tips:
- The park is located at Shimoyoshida, which is 20-25 minutes away by train from Lake Kawaguchi. Check fare details and train schedules before you go: https://e.fujikyu-railway.jp.
- Suica and other IC cards are accepted, but you will need to buy additional fares at the station if you plan to take the Limited Express.
- Once you exit the Shimoyoshida station, just follow the sign to Arakurayama Sengen Park. It takes around 10-15 minutes to get to the base of the staircase leading up to Chureito Pagoda.
- Entrance is free, and there is an observation deck at the top for enjoying the scenic view.
- Wear comfortable clothing for the hike. Be sure to stay hydrated.
