This is not your typical ranch.
As soon as you step into The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, you will quickly realize that “in bloom” is quite an understatement. Featuring 55 acres of giant tecolote ranunculus flowers, the ranch boasts more than 200,000 plants per acre with each plant yielding an average of 10 blooms, or 2 million blossoms per acre. At peak bloom, close to 80 million flowers are blossoming, eagerly vying for visitors’ attention with their vibrant display of colors. A visit here is undoubtedly a visual feast, and a living proof that sometimes more is more, is apropos.

Tips
- The ranch is typically open each year from March 1st till Mother’s Day. Tickets need to be purchased online before arrival. April will be the best month to visit. Check availability and bloom status before you go: https://www.theflowerfields.com
- Start early if you can, especially over the weekends. The parking lot fills up quickly and it could take a while to find a spot.
- Bring enough sun protection along, as there are no shades in the ranch.
