Landmark Center: The light still shines
Situated at the heart of downtown St. Paul, the Landmark Center is more than a historic building. It used to serve as the Federal Court House and Post Office from 19until the mid-20th century, when its government tenants moved out and calls for demolition ensued. Thanks to a group of citizens who campaigned relentlessly, fortunately, the building was saved and restored. Today, the Landmark Center is a cultural center and a popular special event venue. Seeing the light pouring through the skylights as you walk into its atrium, you will understand why people fought so hard to keep this building alive.
